GRAPPLING AT RENZO GRACIE HOLLAND

Many physical confrontations naturally escalate to the ground, where controlling an opponent is more efficient than in a standing exchange. In submission grappling, the focus is on taking the fight to the ground to establish dominant positions and ultimately force the opponent to submit. This is achieved through the strategic use of leverage, positional control, and precise submissions. Submission grapplers gain a deep understanding of human anatomy and its limitations, and use this knowledge to control their opponent and execute submissions effectively. The path to mastery is both mentally and physically demanding, but the benefits are significant: increased strength and endurance, sharper decision-making, greater self-awareness, and a strong sense of camaraderie that comes from training with dedicated teammates. While similar to BJJ, grappling is practiced without a gi (kimono). At Renzo Gracie Holland, submission grappling training takes place in a supportive and safe environment, allowing everyone to work toward their goals while having fun and building lasting relationships.
